7-Year-Old Jaya Sree Needs Urgent Heart Surgery

Seven-year-old S. Jaya Sree from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, has spent most of her childhood fighting for every heartbeat. Born on January 8, 2019, to Saravanan and Meenatchi, Jaya Sree was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition at a very young age. While other children were learning to play and explore the world, she was facing hospital visits, medical tests, and painful treatments.

At just one year old, Jaya Sree underwent a major open-heart surgery on February 3, 2020. The procedure included an Intracardiac Repair (ICR) for Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) closure along with Main Pulmonary Artery (MPA) Plasty. Her family hoped that the surgery would give her a normal childhood, but unfortunately, her battle is not yet over.

Today, Jaya Sree’s condition has become critical once again. She is currently undergoing treatment at MGM Healthcare under the care of expert doctors Dr. Ramya Shri and Dr. K.R. Balakrishnan. After thorough medical evaluation, doctors have advised an urgent and life-saving surgery — a Redo Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Resection with Left Pulmonary Artery Origin Correction.

The estimated cost of this surgery is between ₹5 lakhs and ₹7 lakhs — an amount far beyond what her family can afford. Her father, Saravanan, works as a flower merchant and earns only ₹15,000 per month while supporting the entire family, including Jaya Sree’s younger brother. Despite their struggles, her parents continue to hold onto hope that their daughter can survive and live a healthy life.

Every passing day is crucial for Jaya Sree. Delaying the surgery could lead to severe complications and put her young life at risk. At just seven years old, she deserves the opportunity to grow, study, laugh, and dream like every other child.
